Dreher Robertson

My name is Dreher Robertson and I was born in Austin, TX. I went to high school at San Angelo Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Spanish at Texas Tech University in 2006. My wife and I moved to Durango, CO in 2007 and I went back to school at Fort Lewis College to obtain my teaching certifications in both English and Spanish. For the last ten years I worked as a teacher/advisor at Durango Big Picture High School. Big Picture learning is an independent project based learning model in which student and interests and passions are at the center of every student's high school curriculum. There is also a significant emphasis on real world learning through internships in the community. It is my hope to take some of that experience and blend it with the model here at Vista Nueva.

My drive as an educator comes from seeing the potential person that every single one of my students and staff can become and helping them to see what I see. Every student can learn and every teacher can always get better. I am very excited to join the AMSD team and to contribute to our district mission of having everyone feel Safe, Inspired, and Fulfilled!
